PROJECT ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with Superintendent to prepare initial schedule, subsequent updates and establishes/follows procedures for appropriate documentation of schedule modification.
• Submits all required documentation to owner, including shop drawings and mix designs.
• Monitors project budget, verifies accuracy each month and updates budget before work begins.
• Drives the Pay/Draw requests, assuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assures all work undertaken complies with local laws, ordinances and regulations and obtains necessary permits/approval, before they are needed.
• Submits proposed change orders.
• Coordinates with Superintendent to attend public meetings, present project descriptions/schedules as required by contract and conduct any necessary public relations
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 4+ years experience
• BSCE or BS in Construction Management ; PE desirable
• Highway or bridge design/construction experience
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to travel; within Southwest

QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN
A.S. Horner, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician / Inspector with a heavy highway background. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, a problem solver and have ability to independently manage tasks.
Responsible for providing daily inspection of construction work within a given discipline/trade to ensure that the project construction complies with plans and specifications and the client's interest are protected. Maintains daily logs of inspection work and revise discrepancies or changes with Project Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitors work of contractors.
• Keep superiors advised of problem areas.
• See that work conforms to plans and specifications.
• Performs standard mathematical calculations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3-5 years of heavy highway construction experience
• NMDOT, Soils, Aggregate, Concrete, and Hot Mix Certification required
• Must be able to travel
• Drug Screen Required

SUPERINTENDENT
A.S. Horner, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent with heavy highway background. A qualified candidate should have a minimal of five years experience, with verifiable work. Projects range from 5M to 10M+. This position is Bonus Eligible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establishes the construction schedules, coordinates material ordering, and delivery for the project.
• Monitors all subcontractor performance and takes any appropriate steps to ensure timely profitable job completion.
• Select, train and develop crew to carry out projected workload.
• Manage crews, work schedules, labor costs, material costs and have ability to read plans, specs and blue prints.
• Ability to supervise all phases of construction.
• Oversee project quality.
• Effectively implement new policies, procedures and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 5-10 year experience.
• Heavy highway experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to manage projects in 5M – 10M + range.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
• Adjust to changing priorities from various directives, manage workload changes and impacts, including multi-tasking under stress to meet deadlines.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Experience using a computer and the internet for email, digital photos, etc…

CRANE OPERATOR
A.S. Horner, Inc. is seeking a Crane Operator with a heavy highway background. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, safety conscientious, and have the ability to problem solve.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operates a variety of cranes and heavy equipment. Interprets load charts and plans all lifts. Responsible for daily inspection and safe operation of mobile cranes and other heavy equipment as required.
• Determines safe lift parameters and follows established procedures.
• Performs safety inspection of cranes, heavy equipment, wire rope, hooks, slings and rigging.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of 1 year heavy equipment operation and routine crane operation required.
• Licensed by the State of New Mexico
• Must be able to travel

TRUCK DRIVERS
A.S. Horner, Inc. is seeking a Truck Driver with a heavy highway background. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, responsible, and safety conscientious. Salary DOE with possibilities of safety incentives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Candidates must have either Class A or B license.
• A background in heavy highway construction and experience with end bump or belly dump trucks preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in truck driving.
• Must be able to travel, and drug test screen required.
